Where to capitalize?

Hello,

I am a little confused about which word to capitalize if we have two words. For instance: Quantum physcis. Do we say: he taught Quantum Physics (or should physics not be capitalized)? Do we only capitalize the first word? Like: he was studying Dialectical materialism.

So my question is: in cases where we have a specific term used in scientific circles (like dialectial m or quantum p), must we capitalize the first word and NOT the second? Or must we capitalize both? Or is capitalization not necessary at all?

Thanks in advance.

Capitalize both if it is the specific name of the course. Capitalize neither if it is simply the name of the topic.
