Where the winter occurs

Hi,

Is the sentence correct?

It is not easy to raise chicken in subtropical country where the winter occurs.

Top answer

" However, I do not think of subtropical countries as having a true "winter" -- certainly not compared to countries at higher latitudes. Furthermore, even in temperate countries people have been raising chickens successfully for centuries, so I'm not sure if your statement actually has any truth to it.

I'm a bit confused. You now seem to be saying that people can successfully raise chickens in subtropical countries. Previously you said "It is not easy to raise...". Do you mean that chickens can be raised but it is not easy?

Mr. Wordy,
Without so much probing into the climate aspect in relation to " chicken raising ", If my hunch is correct, the sentence " It's not easy to raise chickens in subtropical countries " may actually be a thought translation hiccup which in essence means " raising chicken in subtropical countries can be challenging (or difficult for some reason). I could be wrong.
