All meteors belong to the solar system ............. .

B. which is earth part of it
C. where the earth is its part
D. of which the earth is a part (Answer Key)

Hello,
May I know why C can't work? C looks good. "where the earth is its part" means that the earth is a part of the solar system.

So, I see nothing wrong with C. May I know why it can't work?

"Where" indicates a place. Also, "is its part" would be unnatural in that sentence. By the way, I'm pretty sure there are meteors in other parts of the universe, outside the solar system.
