WHERE SHOULD STUDENTS STAY, AT HOME OR ON CAMPUS?

Students who prepare to attend colleges often struggle with the decision as to where they should stay during college time. It is believed that living on campus does more good than living at home with family, and I agree with this opinion for a number of reasons.

In my opinion, students residing on campus would find it easier to get along with their peers. They are usually grouped to live with one another in the dormitories, engaging in sports activities, scheduling study groups or even having meals together. Living in such almost the same condition, they therefore would easily make friends and feel connected in the college community. By contrast, for those who forgo dormitory experience, apart from learning time, they tend to spend less time joining little time joining events and other social activities at school, which accounts for why they seem to have smaller circles of friends.

In addition to that, living away from home would help students more mature and independent. In every dorm, student can build their sense of discipline thanks to rules and regulations, for example, being present at their room or not making noise after 11 p.m. These are not likely to apply to those with their parents. Students living far away from their families would not only know how to organize their personal lives, but also can land some on-campus jobs, which makes them more financially independent. Meanwhile, those living at home still rely on their parents in terms of cooking, doing the laundary and other household works.

In conclusion, considering several aspects of living in the dorms in comparison with living at home with parents, I believe that the former choice would be more beneficial for college students.
