Where shoud I put something?

Are all of these orders grammatically okay? To me, only 3) sound unnatural.

But I am not sure whether 1) and 2) makes a difference in meaning.

1:I always carry around a map.

2:I always carry a map around.

3:I always carry around it.

4: I always carry it around.

You are right: (3) is the only one that doesn't work. (1) and (2) have the same meaning. I feel it is a slight improvement to say "I always carry a map with me".
