"In my hometown there are times where it is cold even in June."
I had expected the above sentence to be written or said as "In my hometown there are times WHEN it is cold even in June." instead since it says "there are times". Then I suppose it could be implying that the situation only happens at certain place in their hometown. Could you please comment on this?
By the way, is it alright to have the word "since" for the meaning of reason at the latter part of a sentence like mine above?
