Where or was?
I am trying to type a sentence but do not know which word to use.
The sentence is:
"...and not until the following day, after telegraphing authorities, where he able to sit in his first class compartment again. "
Where he able, or was he able?
The sentence is:
"...and not until the following day, after telegraphing authorities, where he able to sit in his first class compartment again. "
