Where did Cornhole & Dickweed Come From?

I just don't get why they call butthole a cornhole. Why?

And what exactly is dickweed refering to?

These two words' origination and logic have been itching my mind for a while now.

One possibility--

--it is reputed that rural privies were not equipped with toilet paper, but with a corn cob in a vessel of water.

Can't help with your question but "itching my mind": Now there's a wonderful expression. I'll borrow it if I may.

They don't. ******** is a noun, cornhole is a verb. "He cornholed his friend in the ********" would be an unlikely sentence, but it demonstrates how the words are used.

Ask a Beavis and Butthead fan.

The new Shorter OED contains an entry for "dickwad"; hence it could be hypothesized that "dickweed" is a Pondial corruption...
