Where can I read well-written articles?

I would like to read more well-written articles that improve my English and let me learn knowledge at the same time. Examples I can think of are Discovery and National Geographic. Do you have some other suggestions? Also, I would like to read good articles that expresses the writer's personal opinions/ post or against a topic, such as debates on The Economist. Do you have some more suggestions?

These are just my personal choices ...

In the UK, for general interest articles, the BBC magazine:

And for politics, the comments page of the Guardian newspaper:

http://www.theguardian.com/uk/commentisfree

From the US, I sometimes read articles from New Yorker:

http://www.newyorker.com/

And if you want to browse through a very large selection of published material, there is a web site that lists main sources of news, comment and general interest articles ...
