When you do this to a word ...

Hi teachers,
When you do this to a word, wonderful, how do you call it in English? Is it 'cross out' or 'strike'?

Thanks in advance.

I cross out the word. Or, I strike out the word. I think others also strike the word, but I don't use that form myself.

  • I cross out the word.

  • I think others also strike the word, but I don't use that form myself.
  • I'm inclined to use 'cross out' with handwritten documents and 'strike out' with electronic documents.
  • I don't know why.
