When would a person use this and not that?
Hi,
I have this word 'movement' and am wondering when would a person use use the countable version and when would he use the uncountable version when it is preceded by the quanitfier?? 'a lot of'. I think there are many words like this that might pose some difficulty to some. What should I look for or think about when I am confronted with those choices?
I was looking at CNN and a news person there was interviewing what looks to be a famous soccer player and it looks to be that the soccer player said something like this:
I will have (make??) a lot of movement and that will create more chances.
Why not?
I will have (make??) a lot of moverments and that will create more chances.
How about the sentence I just wrote to pose the question?
... that might pose some difficulty to some.

Believer, IMO, you're losing your time. You're posting literally hundreds of postings on the issues of articles, instead of just accepting and learning the idiom, the current usage. Listen and learn.

IMO, you're losing your time. You're posting literally hundreds of postings on the issues of articles, instead of just accepting and learning the idiom, the current usage. Listen and learn. You'll advance faster.
Not everything can be explain by rules, or even if it can, it's more important for yourself to get the feel.

I think the response you gave is a very wise one and the one that will likely to help save some valuable time and effort for those who are trying very hard to achieve some level of competency.
I am just trying to attain the requisite level of knowledge within the shortest period of time possible and in that regard, I do appreciate all you people's help.
