when + will

I heard that will cannot be used after when in SUBORDINATE time clauses, butin in MAIN clasues can be used.

A native speaker said that when + will was a mistake.

So are these sentences correct?

When will I get the photos?
When will you call me?

Can you give the source of your explanation?

Hi mate, I really was amazed to know that when + will is a mistake .. I am not a native speaker .. but I am used to use when + will when I talk English and no one told me that my use of the combination is wrong ..
