When we should use "Of"

Hello all I was watching "Lord of war" Emotion: movie. in this movie someone told to nicilas cage "You are lord of war!" and he replied "War lord is correct!".

Now my question is they should be same why not to use first one and should second one?

and something else, If the second one is coorect; so "The lord of the rings" is not correct?

Hello, undone - and welcome to English Forums. Your problem is unclear to me, but I can say tbis: 'Lord of war' = some sort of *** of war, like Mars or Kratos. 'Warlord' = a real leader of warriors or warrior clans, like Afghan warlords.

'Lord of war' = some sort of *** of war, like Mars or Kratos.

'Warlord' = a real leader of warriors or warrior clans, like Afghan warlords.

'The Lord of the Rings' is correct also.

I don't know when we should use "of"!

I think "Lord of war" should be same as "Warlord"!

but it is not:(

the main language of my country it's not english and we don't have this situation at our grammar
