when to use have

Hi,
I wonder what is the correct way from the following:
1. I starred the film "Jailhouse Rock"
2. I have I starred the film "Jailhouse Rock"

Or maybe they both wrong and there is a better way?

  • If you talked about yourself , I would say " I got / played the starring role in the film "Jailhouse Rock".
  • # 2 is definitely worng.

# 1 sounds correct but seems concieited. If you talked about yourself , I would say " I got / played the starring role in the film "Jailhouse Rock". # 2 is definitely worng.
