when to use has 'had'?

1. Im thrilled with the fact that weight lifting has had helped me to regain my left arm strength I'd lost in a childhood accident.

2. I'm still recovering from the joint injury I have had in an car accident 2 weeks ago.

Actuall, I wouldn't use present perfect in the secnd sentence, because we don't use Present Perfect Tense with the words like ago, last etc. So it's better to say : I'm still recovering from the joint injury I had in a car accident 2 weeks ago. (Past SImple Tense)

>My doubt is, when is apropriate to use 'has had' in a sentence?

appropriate

This injury has had a constant effect on my training. up to/until now

So I wanted to say it had helped me in the past and is still helping me to improve the condition of the left arm.
-If you wanted to say that it helped you in the past and it still has effect on you now, you use the present perfect.
So you should use have/has had always you use the verb have in the present prefect.example:
I've had awesome holidays in Tunisia
