When to use commas?

Hey, my girlfriend sent me a paper of hers to look over. Her and I write differently in terms of commas. Can you fix the following sentences, if necessary, to add/remove commas? (I think she uses commas less than she should, but I'm not exactly an English major, so I don't know for sure.)

For example, in #1, I would have added a comma after the word "society". In #2, I would have used another comma after "working" to distinguish it from being connected with making money.
