When to use being?

Hello everybody,

I have following grammar problem.

...column being updated
...column is being updated
...column is updated
...column updated

I do not know which difference is between using being and not using being.

What meanings do they have?
Do any of these sentences have the same meaning?
Could you explain it?

Thak you very much, Paul
