when to say 'next' and not 'the next'

Hi,

Let us pretend that I am speaking to a group after they have finished a session and I have to tell them to go to the next session, how should I say it at that moment?

OK, gentlemen, please move/go to the next session. The next session is waiting for you next room.

I think generally, phrases that denote time like 'next month' or 'next year', the article 'the' is dropped, but I am not sure about others like 'next session', 'next meeting', 'next meal', 'next topic' when I am shouting those phrases out to instruct a group of people to do something like the above initially mentioned pair of sentences.

You drop the article with things like "next month" or "next year" in referring to time, but not with "the next session." In your example, use the article.
