When text messaging

hi, this is samantha and my phone number has been changed. so save it Emotion: smile)

i was wondering if that sounds like a native speaker Emotion: smile

and can someone explain what's the difference between

"my phone number has been changed" VS "my phone number has changed" VS "I changed my phone number"

all three sounds right to me.

Thank you in advance!

Hi, in my opinion only the two last examples seem to be correct. I wouldn't use a passive construction like "has been changed". I would rather go for the Present Perfect example, as it is an action that started in the past and is still lasting in the present, if you want to emphasize the action of the "changing" which still is important in the present as nobody can call you on that number anymore.

  • But also the use of past tense is correct like in "I changed my phone number".
