When something is finished

Hi

Could you please tell me what is the typical way of saying/telling that somehting is finshed at home or shop? For example:

(Wife to her husband)

We must go to the grocery today. So many things have finished.

I can't make it. The chicken is finished.

(At the shop)

Sorry, milk is finshed.

Thanks,

Tom
