What are you going to do?
What will you do?

Well, going to means a plan that we are going to(!) do. And will is something that we would like to do.

Thanks. That was in a dialog in a movie. Person A is who has to decide. Person B comes and tell him : What are you going to do?
and after that Person C comes and tell him: what will you do?

According to your referring post (is it grammatically correct?) Person A should answer what is plan to do at the first place to Person B and should answer what eventually will he do.
