When should we use "Farther"

Can anybody explain me with some examples how to use "Farther" word. Thank you. I will be waiting for your reply.

Although in fact many speakers use both further and farther for physical distance, most grammar books still insist that farther refers to physical distance while further refers to mental or metaphoric distance.
