When referring to something as a whole

For example,
will it be correct to say "It's a stereotype that people usually associate human bodies with", or should the "human bodies" be singularized instead?

"Associate" likes its preposition nearby. Say

"It's a stereotype that people usually associate with human bodies."

or

"It's a stereotype that people usually associate with the human body."

That's the one I'd choose. The plural bodies suggests dead bodies to me.
