When + Present Simple + Present Continuous

Hello,

I'd like to ask you if it's correct tp say a sentence like this one:

When you hear voices, you are suffering from schizophrenia.

Should I use Present Simple in each clause or maybe the use of Present Continuous in the second one is also acceptable?

Thank You
