When prepostion and the infinite article can be omitted?

I read a sentence yesterday .
Cambridge university , earth scientist ,Sebastian Breitenbach is a co-author of the study.
My question is
(1) Cambridge university ,why the propostion at is omitted
(2) earth scientist ,why the indefinite article an is omitted.
