Hi Everyone,
A student asked me the other day if we could use the word 'since' with all of the past tense aspects.
I have an issue with the past perfect continuous. I don't think we would say the following sentence for example:
Martina had been riding her bike since 9am this morning. X
Instead, I would say this:
Martina has been riding her bike since 9am this morning.
Are there any sentences that anyone can think of that could use the word 'since' in a past perfect continuous format?
Thanks,

I've found this in the Internet: Isidor Bloch recommended import of wheat products by rail, which he had been doing since 1880. On his own, he read a lot, something he had been doing since his Beckett epiphany.

Probably not, though in some unusual situation, I think it could work.
