When is the appropriate time to use word "too"

When do you use a word "too"?

Is that accurate?

It's ok if you are using it to mean 'as well'. so if someone says to you 'Have a good weekend' you could reply 'Have a good weekend too' If someone has said 'thank you' to you, you could reply 'thank you too'. Or maybe you've thanked one person already, and you now want to thank another person as well.
