Hi,

Question:
Is it common to say "a year 1 student, a first year student, and studied for my year 1"?

Sentence1:
When Ii was a year 1 student at the ABC University, Dr. XYZ taught me.
Sentence2:
When I was a first year student at the ABC University, Dr. XYZ taught me.
Sentence3:
When I studied for my year 1 at the ABC University, Dr. XYZ taught me.

I want to say:

In the first year of my BSc at ABC University, Dr. XYZ taught me
