Personally, I'd take this approach:

When you discuss or talk about the plot of certain movie, it is assumed that you must have seen it already, such that the past timing is established. So I would use past tense to describe the plot or a scene.

Make belief this is the conversation:

"...Oh yeah, I like the part where Jacky Chan
