When I finished writing the letter

I have to find part of sentence where error lies.

#1 When I finished writing the letter (A)/ I could not help admiring myself (B)/ to have achieved the impossible. (C)/ No error (D).

I find two errors in the given sentence. First in part A, there should be "had finished" as this action happen first then 2nd action of "admiration".

Second error in part C. I think it should be "admiring my self for achieving". I don't know why but "to have achieved" seems incorrect here.

Thank you
