When I am a baby, can I use this?

I told my son he is not a baby anymore, and he said " when I am a baby, can use this?"
I am not sure if present "am" is correct to use. So he was hypothesizing (like a if sentence).

Thank you.

How about this sentence: when I am a baby, I will use this. I know the grammar probably correct, but can it be actually used?
