When he fell down ...

Hello,

Can you tell me whether "when" is the right word in the sentence below. Normally I would say "During a hockey match the boy fell down ...." but "during" is already used. I've got the feeling that "when" is a bad choice here.

"The boy had an accident during a hockey match when he fell down on the ice and broke his leg"
