when +future ?

hi

Is it possible to say

I let you know when he arrives if it is sure he will arrive it has been planed before
instead of
I let you know when he will arrive (we are not sure if it will arrive)

The difference has nothing to do with sureness. Both are grammatical; the first is the native choice.

Neither is possible. These are:

I will let you know when he arrives. (The speaker is certain of the arrival. Will is not natural in the subordinate clause.)

I will let you know if he arrives. (The speaker is not certain of the arrival.)

So we must use the future but with this sentence that is roughly the same (seen in corrected exercise)

I know when he will do it
why can't we say
I will know when he does it

I would have said
He will be sure when he does it
I am sure when he will do it

I dont undestand why cant we say
"I let you know when he will arrive" and you can say" I know when he will arrive"
They are very similar! Why can you use the present with know (which means the future)
and not with let you know
