When either putting or not putting articles seems to be correct
Hi. Please help. I think the English articles in the places noted are optional, although in no. 1 putting the definite article "the" before the word "new ways" seems to give a restrictive feeling that doing without it might not give. Oh, now, come to think of it, all three (with the definite articles) seem to give out that feeling.
The best studies reveal (1) (the?) new ways of research. When doing research, distinguish
(2) (the?) data generated by your own studies from (3) (the?) information obtained from other people.

#1 - 'The' is awkward at best and should not be used. #2 - 'The' is optional but its inclusion is much the better choice. #3 - 'The' is optional.
