When do we use a comma before because?
I think we should totally do this because why not?

I am inclined to think "because why not" never takes a comma before "because", because it's barely a sentence on it's own. Is this correct?

This is casual English. ' I'd say the comma is optional. The comma gives more emphasis to what comes before it, by getting the reader to pause for a second to consider what has just been said.
