When asking a question.....

Hi teachers,

I would to know when we asking a question like:

Where did she go?
Why is not : Where did she goes?

What makes you think?
or
what make you think?

How to know whether she likes you?
or
How to know whether she like you?

I am very confuse about this as when I saw some people asking a question with out an S as shown in the above sentences.

thank you so much.

Hi there. The -s ending is for 3rd person singular (he/she/it) but only in the present simple . Your first example is past siimple, not present simple so there is no -s.

Where did she go?
So for present simple you would use the s: Where does she goes?
The grammatical explanation is that with do, does and did the infinitive is used.

I always think of it as ...

You only use one 's' when you make the present simple.
She likes me.
She doesn't like me.
Does she like me?

It's the same with 'd' in the past simple.
She liked me.
She didn't like me.
Did she like me?

Why is not : Where did she goes?
did is past; goes is present. You can't mix them up like that. Learn the patterns below.

Present.
He does go. She does go.
I do go. We do go. You do go. They do go.

[He does go = He goes / She does go = She goes / I do go = I go / ...]

what make you think?
This makes ... That makes ... It makes ... She makes ... He makes ... Who makes ...? What makes ...? Everything makes ... Everyone makes ...

All those words take the same pattern (makes).
