WHEN and WHILE with a tense???

Could you tell me which you'd say?

1 Close your mouth when you chew/when you are chewing.
2 He left the house when I was taking a shower.
3 If we took the elevator up while they were going down, we missed them. /I don't know if they will be able to all fit in the elevator.

Which would you say?

- Is that your way of asking me my age/how old I am.
- What's/which is your mother tongue?
- She got me sick because she kissed me when she had a flu.
- Weren't there 2 more people with us that we lost?

Thank you

1. either one

2. I'd use while

3. they will all be able

age: either way

what's

I got sick because she kissed me when she had the flu.

ok

[Again, I think that if you use the guidelines of lorsque + imparfait and quand + p.c. you'll be correct most of the time in english with while & when.]
