When (2 different meanings)

1 I hope the train is pulling in when I arrive./when I’m arriving.

2 I hope the trains pulls in when I arrive/I’m arriving.

How come step 4 has shown an error on my screen when I haven’t even gotten to step 4. (is this correct and can WHEN be replaced by another word?)

Are these the same?

- I'm no where near finished.

- I'm no where close to finished.

Thank you
