Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
But I saw the word in the below sentence and confused because of the verb "hook up". I cannot visualize it.

"... wheelie-stand [which] hooked up next to his ironwork chair."

Hi,

What's the complete sentence?

"His cheeks have sunken to flaccid jowls and, most telling to all, there is a drip on a wheelie-stand hooked up next to his ironwork chair."

The man is not ill, but isn't in a good condition either.

Hi,

It's a piece of hospital equipment, commonly used when doing IV drips.

This occured to my mind too, but I still have a problem with the verb "hook up". Does it sound okay to you?
Sorry for taking your time too much by the way. Thanks.

Hi,

He's sitting in the chair.
The IV stand is next to the chair.
He is hooked up to the medication that is on the stand.
