hi!
could anybody tell me which one is correct? and why?

What is preferable between red and blu chips?
Which is preferable between red and blu chips?
(I just made up red and blue chips...I know it doesn't really make sense)

PS what does "bend the spoon" mean?

I think that right versions are:

What is preferable red or blue chips?
Which is preferable between red and blue chips?

I think your answer is correct. Because we use WHAT to ask a question about any thing and WHICH is used to show what things you are referring to or making a choice between two or more objects. I can not explain more than that though.
