What's your religion?

Hi teachers,

Could you possibly help me ask a question about somebody's religion l and answer such a question:

Can I ask:" What's your religion/faith?"
And Can I answer: " I'm (a) Buddhist/(a) Catholic/(a)protestant/(a) Muslim/(a) HIndu.

Please let me know whether an indefinite article''a" can be dropped.

Thank you in advance
