What's wrong with this sentence?

Guys, could you please help me to find the mistake in the sentences below and tell what are the right words to use and why are those sentences wrong..

1. He asked more money. or
He asked for more money.

2. We appreciate you for your kindness. or
We appreciate your kindness.

3. He was absent for a business trip. or
He was absent because of a business trip.

4. It is not allowed to smoke here.

5. The department store is attracting a lot of clients by lowering prices.

6. He didn't mind to show me the way to the hotel.
