What's this mean? "Send people your way"?

Someone writes to Dear Abby: "She also doesn't like it when I swear or mention what I think of people she has sent my way who have burned me." And Abby replies:"Remind her not to send any more people your way, and why."
I don't understand what that sentence means. What's this phrase mean? "Send people your way"?

In this context it would probably mean people who she had introduced the writer to, or arranged for the writer to meet with or without the writer's knowledge.
