What's the word to describe someone's fake/unnatural way of speaking?

I remeber seeing a rather technical word that described a way of speaking which was too formal or unatural or contrived... or a fake accent. but I can't remeber it for the life me.

These may be suitable: ostentatious, haughty, showy, flamboyant, pretentious.

It's hardly technical, but "put on" is what I think of when someone's speech is affected.
