What's the word?

If I want to tell people what the words that I see printed on the surface of a bottle, box, package, label, etc, do I say eg:

The medication bottle reads take one tablet once daily, or

the medication bottle says take one tablet once daily.

The bottle says take one tablet once daily.

If you wanted to use 'read' you could, but you would need to structure the sentence like this instead:
