What's the word?

that means to convert someone from one religion (or maybe none at all) to another?

Could someone be kind enough to tell me? I think it starts with an "a". Thanks a lot.

Hi guys,
spelling: proselytize

It doesn't actually mean 'to convert'. It means 'to try to convert'.

Aargh! Thanks, Clive, I cannot believe I swapped the "i" for the "y"!

Tanit"Proselytise" would be fine, though. Right?
According to the http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=63557&dict=CALD, that would be the usual spelling in the UK.
