What's the verb and noun for it?

Supposed that a person climbed on top of an exterior pyramid. He then decided to go back down by leaning his shoulder against the pyramid wall to slide down slowly until he touched the ground.

Is the verb called, "to slide down" and the noun, "Wall descending"?

Thank you
