I'd suggest to dare to make a search with dare (upper right corner search box in your forum window) see the threads which show up (there are several significant ones) and come back if you have any questions after that ... it'd be more productive for all involved ...

You can use it as if it were a modal verb.
I dare not open the door.
I do not dare to open the door.
I did not dare to open the door.
would you dare open the door?
"I dare you, throw it" (Ventura).
It means you encourage them to throw the dart.

this is how I see it.

You mean messages/posts?

Inchoate, only you and the moderators have access to edit or delete your posts. If a moderator deletes a post, you will get an email letting you know what has happened and why. If we edit your post, we may put in a note to let you know why, but not automatically. Moderators don't edit without reason though.

No-one else can change your posts.

I have made a posting yesterday.
'Sinking or thinking' was the subject.
I clearly remember posting to the vocabulary and idioms thread.
First I deleted, then I posted it again -- there was some problem with the internet link I attached to it
Today I logged on only to see it has gone.
I have checked all my previous postings: no, nada, zip.
What would you think?

Incho:

Saw your post, there was a link which was strange, to me at least (for the context of this forum) in it.

I am not surprised it was removed, at all. Sorry, but you need to be careful about the links you provide.

Yes I, those posts have been deleted. Strange - you should get an automatic email informing you of this, I don't know why you didn't, and I don't know which moderator deleted them.

The post just contained a link to a commercial site,no relevance to English language, and we don't permit that. In addition the site looks rather 'dodgy' to me anyway. All those photos of women, all from Bille

It actually has some relevance.
Moreover, I bust a gut laughing every time I see it. It is a really funny short film without sensuality.
No problem, you do not even have to appologise.
