I read this sentence from a regulation article of a certain kind of financial licence , saying 'Authority may revoke the licence if the licensee(corporate) is in the course of being wound up or otherwise dissolved.' As a non-native English speaker, I got 2 questions here:
1. What's 'wound up' mean?
2. What's 'otherwise' mean? If this sentence is put without 'otherwise', is there any difference? What's the usage of 'otherwise' here, compared with its more common usage as in 'You should go to this lecture, otherwise you'll miss our best professor's speech.'
Thanks.

" The corporation is going down the tubes.
This is the end.
Haven't you guys finished yet?
(reply) We're just winding up here.
To be dissolved is likewise to be removed from existence.
