What's the total expence on your car every month?

Hi

Could you please tell me the most natural way of asking such questions?

What's the total expence on your car every month? (gas, service, etc)

What's the total expence on your children's education every month? (school fee, tuition fee, stationery, etc)

Also, when do we use outgoings?

Thanks,

Tom

I think I would say, "What's the total cost" in the two sentences [or "what do you pay?"]

Outgoings? Example, please.

I would say "monthly expenses".

A really informal way to ask about expenses is "nut". Very uncommonly used, though: "My sales didn't cover my nut."

Thanks!

So, are these OK?

A – What are your total monthly expenses on your car/on your children's education/on entertainment?

A – What’s the total monthly cost on your car/on your children's education?

B - Oh, a lot. About 5000 rupees every month.
